The Weekly Game Jam is a time for students and faculty to come together, take a quick break from work, and have fun. We will sort through instructions and play the game for about 45 minutes then chat about the design elements, mechanics, and other intriguing points for the last 15 minutes.
We have been varying the types of games each week--board games, video games, computer games, card games, etc.--so that we can review ones that may be new to us in design or game play.
The Game Jams are for anyone who's interested in game design, watching how people learn, or using games in learning. Of course, anyone who just loves playing games is welcome to come, too! We had a student from computer science joining us, as well as a student from engineering who leads the Game Design Club on campus.
